To find our calling is to find the intersection between our own deep gladness and the world’s deep hunger. -- Frederick Buechner
Before becoming an acupuncturist I was blessed with two amazing careers of service. I proudly served 12 years in the United States Air Force and, following an honorable discharge, transitioned to a career as a customer advocate in the Executive Branch of the US government. I enjoyed many aspects of those careers, earning a wealth of experience, and it soon became clear to me that there was more.
After a profound spiritual awakening I enrolled at Tai Sophia Institutute, now Maryland Universtity of Integrative Health (MUIH), and earned a Masters degree of Acupuncture (M.Ac). I spent thousands of academic and clinic hours learning and embodying the intricacies of acupuncture and chinese medicine through first-rate instruction and extensive internship. To support future generations of practitioners, I currently serve as adjunct faculty at MUIH teaching the wonderful art of point location.
I'm licensed to practice acupuncture by the State of Maryland, an Acupuncture Detoxification Specialist (ADS) from the National Acupuncture Detoxification Association (NADA), and a member of the Maryland Acupuncture Society.
Out of gratitude for my fellow veterans, I lead a volunteer program offering free auricular acupuncture treatments to members of the Maryland National Guard. For more information about that program, click here.
I believe being an acupuncturist is my life calling; it is why I am on this earth. My years of training coupled with my own deep transformation prompt me to live a bigger and more meaningful life. Today, I know the possibilities are endless and with continual exploration the next chapter unfolds.
I'm eternally grateful for the entire journey that has brought me to this moment and I look forward to walking with you as you discover your full potential.
